Heidi A. Lang Antiques & Fine Art specializes in 18th, 19th and select 20th c. English & American Furniture, art , and accessories for both the home and garden. Heidi has been a collector of antiques and fine art for over thirty five years.
You will find Heidi A. Lang Antiques & Fine Art at antique shows in northern New England and at the Antiques Collaborative, Inc. in Quechee VT. Her former, popular biennial barn sale held at her farm in Woodstock VT, was a much anticipated event where she was joined fellow antique dealers, Sue Lilly, (Red Horse Antiques) Gail Stickney (Stickney-Lavin Antiques) and Gail Torkelson ( Spencer-Julian Antiques). Now living in the North East Kingdom of Vermont, she continues to show at the Antiques Collaborative and at shows.
Heidi has a varied background in the arts and has served as the Assistant Curator for the
limited-edition print collection and touring exhibition entitled, PRESSWORK: The Art of Women Printmakers which opened in 1991 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, in
Washington D.C. The exhibition catalog of the same name, and of which Ms. Lang was Chief Editor, has been utilized by numerous U.S. universities and colleges as a teaching tool for art history and fine art departments. The catalogue is housed in the Library of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and was sold at the Tate Gallery in London.
Heidi holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Following graduate school, she spent a number of years working as a free-lancer and for both commercial and non-profit art galleries, among them the Stephen Huneck Gallery in Woodstock, Vt. (Publicity Manager) and the T.W. Wood Gallery & Arts Center in Montpelier, VT (Executive Director). In the early 2000's she decided to focus on what she enjoys most--antiques-- opening Heidi A. Lang Antiques & Fine Art .
Heidi has served her community as President of the Board of The Woodstock History Center, Woodstock, Vt; on the board of The Library Arts Center, Newport, Nh, The Exhibition Committee of the Chandler Art Gallery, Randolph Vt; and on the Collections Committee, for the Norwich Historical Society, Norwich Vt. As a former editorial staff member for Working Woman magazine and Special Projects researcher and writer for Ms. magazine, Heidi sharpened her eye on numerous photo shoots handling styling and editorial assignments with NYC photo stylist, Kim Freeman; lifestyle editor, Freddi Greenberg and many writers including Arlene Raven and Patricia Bosworth.
